Praying, eaglelady! And keep me in prayer, too. I have this little feeling I could be coming down with a cold... a bit of a headache, sore throat, and feeling a little warm.

This accounting class is a bit challenging. I have to change my entire way of thinking for this to make sense. Who woulda thunk that a debit is an increase and a credit is a decrease. I'm a bit backwards anyway, so the more I do, the clearer it becomes.

I'm with ya, Michelle. I have a cold, too. I thought I knocked it out early, but it came back with a vengeance! It also feels like a sinus infection is brewing. Grrrr.

Eaglelady, hang in there; you'll do fine. Just add a couple hours of work and the grades will follow. I had to up my study time lately because the classes are more challenging. The college tell us that we should expect to study for twenty hours a week to do well.

Sorry you're feeling bad! I was able to shake mine last night, but I'm not saying it won't come back... I still feel like I'm fighting it.

I know you'll be able to get those terms down... if it were me, I'd be getting out the index cards and pasting them everywhere. It takes me a while to "get" things like that.

I had a breakthrough earlier this week and finally figured out what the professor wants us to do with each of these books we're reading. I have seven books to read and write a paper on at the end of every week. Then at the end, we have to write a comprehensive theory paper integrating theories from all seven books. The light just went on, so I've been busy writing the outline for this paper, so excited because now I know I'm doing it right. WooHoo! Still, I'm sorta behind on the comprehensive paper, but we have a long weekend coming up, so I'm taking advantage!

That's a great feeling when the light goes on! It's one of my favorite things about school.

I'm finding that just by going through the exercises in the book that I'm getting a better understanding of the terminology. I guess that's what the exercises are for anyway.

Does anyone ever feel like just throwing in the towel... Ugh, had a rough time last night. This class is going to kill me!! I look at the professor's examples, then at mine and wonder if I'll ever feel like a "real" grad student, or just one who's pretending to be.

Thanks for listening to me vent!

((((Michelle)))) Ohhhh yea! I am feeling that big time right now. It's been an incredibly tough semester with a huge homework load, and at this point, I'm wondering whose bright idea it was to go back to school anyway! But, I think the end of the semester is always hard. Everyone is exhausted and just ready for a break.

My finals schedule is going to be a killer. I have one final on one day, then the other four are all back to back on the same day with no breaks...and ALL of them comprehensive.

Hang in there, Michelle...you'll get through it!

Thanks, Karlie!! I really do enjoy school, but trying to balance both school and work can really be a pain, y'know? I've been invited to a party Saturday night, and some of the Christmas parties start before my classes get out, so there's that juggling act.

Wow! Your finals week is gonna be heavy!

You hang in there too, Karlie! And we'll all hang in there together. I know we'll make it and have the graduation pictures to show for it!!

You all just hang in there! OK? It will all be over before you know it.

A woman in my small group is a grad student and is having a lot of problems with her prof badgering her about every little thing. It's really got her down, but she's hanging in there too!

Awww...I'm going to keep y'all in my prayers.

My school has been insanely easy this semester...well, ok, voice wasn't EASY, because I picked some wicked stuff to learn, but I was in no danger of getting a bad grade and I loved learning that stuff...look forward to more next semester.

Next semester, God willing, will not be easy. 16 8-hour Saturdays of Biology, if God works it so that I can get in the class (please God, please God, please God)...that's in addition to my classes at Howard Payne U.

I have so little to worry about as far as school goes for the next few weeks that it's amazing.

Ah, but never fear. Home/relationship issues and w*** issues (mostly performances all packed into one or two weekends) will keep me nicely on the adrenalin edge until Christmas.

And as soon as finals are over I have to start studying to take the American Government CLEP and challenge the second diction course.

God bless us, every one.

shallbe

Hey, ShallBe! Glad that school is going so smoothly for ya, especially since you have so many other things to worry about. I really shouldn't be complaining, it's been an emotional couple of weeks for me and I think that's the basis of my frustration.

16 8-hour classes of Biology sounds like a lot!! Are you getting two classes in there?

No, but I'm getting the class lab--it's 4 hours credit altogether...when I checked with the HPU registrar, they said it had to be a life science with an IN CLASS lab...so no online class for me. And I could actually take the class at HPU...but then I'd have to drive TWO hours ONE way FIVE days a week for it.

No.

I'll take driving ONE hour ONE day a week and stay all day.

Fortunately the classes I'll be taking at HPU are not difficult. I'll have New Testament and Music History IV...I've been with this Music History teacher for 3 semesters already and I know how he works and what he wants. It's a tough class but I'm already in the habits I need to pass it. And of course voice...that's work but doesn't really interfere with other things too much as I do most of my practicing in the car.

I'll still be driving there 3 days a week, but although I'll be leaving at the usual time of 5:30 am, I will be getting home much earlier--my last class ends at noon on Monday and Friday. I have to hang out for a bit on Wednesdays, but all that means is that I will be able to complete ALL my homework at school and won't have to bring a bit of it home.

Then I THINK we will be having a wedding in the early summer. Late summer I will take French II at the same school I'm taking biology, and during my last semester at HPU I will also finish up my last French course there.

If that all happens as planned, I will graduate December 09.

shallbe

In response to going back to school! I went back at forty something and I got my Masters Degree, but let me just say the job market got smaller. I don't want to teach in a classroom and it is tough. GOD has to be your focus and you must know he will be your resource! Good Luck.

I am so struggling to get the classes I need. One is a requirement for the major, was supposed to be my FIRST class I took, but I got registered late enough that there were no seats left. Fine. Then I tried to get in THIS semester, but it was limited to new transfer students. Hey! I was new LAST semester, and I can't get in this semester either?

I might be stuck taking it in my SENIOR year, while doing the hardest of my classes for my major! Dang!

And in the meantime, I will probably not have time to do summer school, I may end up in India for several weeks, right before the beginning of fall semester. Not that that is a BAD thing.

please pray I do well on the exam tonight. I really need to get my grade up in this class. Also, pray I forget and forgive the disagreement I had with my mother earlier so my mind can be clear.

to address being worried about not getting the classes oyu need, I went through that and the Lord provided a way for me to get help through another professor. so try not to worry.

I'll try, sweetie. I've e-mailed the professor who is the head of advising for my department, and I'm hoping she can cut me some slack.

Oh, and praying that your mind will be clear for your exam. Do well, sis!

Nevermind.

They lied. They are taking money AWAY. Lots of it. Like...$2000 worth. Because I have to reduce my hours at my main school because I can't get the courses I need there and have to go take classes elsewhere.

That totally rots! Won't you get that money back if you are taking the classes someplace else, or it it dependent on going to that particular school?

Dependent on going to THAT school, more's the pity. I just hope the Sallie Mae people will understand that I AM still going to school full time (though it's really part-time at two different schools) and my deferred payments don't start coming due...
